Ford is an American car manufacturer that started business in 1903 and has grown to become the fifth largest car company in the world where numbers of sold cars are concerned. When you consider that in 19093 only 14 percent of houses in the US had a bath tub then it shows what an achievement this is. Ford invented the assembly line method for making cars. It revolutionized car construction and is still the most popular way cars are built even today.

For the amazing achievements of Ford up to this day, here are some five interesting facts you may have not known:

2. Since the time Henry Ford retired from his CEO position all subsequent CEO's are direct relatives.

3. Although the first car released by Ford was the Model "A", it was the Model "T" that became Ford's first real success story and in 1916, 55% of all cars on the road were Model "T" Fords. Part of the reason for the car's popularity was it's price which was less than half of it's rivals.

4. When the former president Gerald Ford was describing his no-nonsense, style of governing, he was quoted saying, "I'm a Ford, not a Lincoln," comparing President Lincoln's eloquence with Lincoln, the luxury car company owned by Ford Motor Company.
